“I would suggest there has been more lobbying than a labrador standing next to a barbecue,” says Ben Willee, executive director of media and data at advertising agency Spinach, of a consultation process that has stretched over years.

“Including LinkedIn feels a bit like charging the cafe because people occasionally read the newspaper when they’re there for something else. But if they are talking about monetising attention, it is much easier to include LinkedIn and TikTok.”
